Human Embroidery: Shared Living Space

Shalom Tower, Tel Aviv

In the postmodern times in which we live, virtual social media networks play a significant role, alongside individualism which eliminates the opportunity for social consolidation. Traditional communities are being replaced with virtual ones and so are interpersonal interactions. An apartment building creates a human community thereof the geographical proximity.

In this project I have chosen to investigate and explore the reciprocal relations between the private and the public, the personal and the common, and to find designing responses which has the potential to bridge between those contradicting needs and the individual characteristics of tenants. In this living space,

I have examined the possibility to transform the material-characteristics of the term "texture" into a spatial designing language.
